I don`t know about numbers but as long as you are healthy, (mentally/physically) and have a happy, content life then why not go for the record. How about you?

Hi Bleeding Pawn
I am not sure what you mean by 'for the record'
for me life does not round up to a number and so life is simply a time one has to spend thinking it is well worth it. it is not about how much or how long but about how good it is.:)

I would like to live for as long as I am physically and mentally fit. Once either of those begins to go, best to just off yourself in a spectacular fashion (something like taking a good dose of painkillers then jumping out a plane with fireworks strapped to your back instead of a parachute)!

My old french teacher always used to say that he was going to chuck himself into an Icelandic geyser when he got old - I think I sometimes wishes he'd do it sooner rather than later...

As for myself, I'd quite like to make it into my 90s - so long as I was healthy and capable, of course.

Exactly cacian. For the record, it actually means that if you are healthy and living a content life and you are enjoying it then why not go on and on. No one would want to necessarily put an end to it, also, the record is pretty subjective when it concerns a healthy life as the posters above clarified.

I have never come across anyone who, in this fast-paced , ultra modern era would evaluate the quality of their life at their peak, it is when they reach their twilight that is the time when they start reminiscing about how the time they had spent.
