Aphorism #146 Look into the Interior of Things.

Things are generally other than they seem, and ignorance that never looks beneath the rind becomes disabused when you show the kernel. Lies always come first, dragging fools along by their irreparable vulgarity. Truth always lags last, limping along on the arm of Time. The wise therefore reserve for it the other half of that power which the common mother has wisely given in duplicate. Deceit is very superficial, and the superficial therefore easily fall into it. Prudence lives retired within its recesses, visited only by sages and wise men.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=yIl2AUoC8zA (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=Ze7WmoVTcCY:zb1IG0YMvtg:yIl2A UoC8zA) http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=qj6IDK7rITs (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=Ze7WmoVTcCY:zb1IG0YMvtg:qj6ID K7rITs)

This is just another version of "don't judge a book by its cover." In what he's saying most applies to his times. We no longer worry much about appearance and reality. If we are looking at a book cover, we know that's what it is. There is something inside and behind any thing. We no longer take the cover as the appearance and the other stuff as the reality. It would be utterly stupid. Any thing is appearance and any thing is reality provided we are not stupid. Difficult to get this? LOL Inside the can, eh? Pee inside the can.
