Life has been cruel, and fate so dark.
Why have you left me this way?
The blame was your own, the punishment mine.
And now I lay silent today.

I sit here in stillness, and sing this, my song.
No company will I keep.
Silent, my lips, stained, my hands.
And into the darkness I sleep.

Once did a man, who shone like the stars,
Look out on his kingdom and sigh.
He said "There is no man as powerful or well respected as I"

So long was his reign, so endless his glory,
That immortal the shadow he cast.
Which fell dark upon the young brother he shunned,
And grew even darker as years and years passed.

Goodnight, oh Prince, now, goodnight, brother, mine.
Sleep now in death's cold embrace.
My knife now in you rests, my hatred pours in.
And your soul I now will erase.

Carry the pain and darkness of night,
And carry my sorrow, you'll find.
Brother, you're hated much more than you know.
You'll pay now for being so blind.

Very dark poem that I found intriguing. You have a wonderful way with words.

Why, thank you. Writing this was very... Convivial. To myself, at least.
