Hi! I'm trying to find the name and author of this poem:
Once there was a little girl about nine
In that playground across the street where I stayed
I noticed her ragtag clothes a pale shades of gray
She'd play alone and I'd delightfully watch
One particular evening I passed her by
She said something that caught me by surprise,
"I know you always watch me play"
I stammered a reply, "Hope you don't mind"
No she didn't mind at all
Out of politeness I ask her why play alone
In her girlish voice she looked up to me and replied,
"This is the field where I planted my dreams ..."
(Then she smiled a certain strange smile) "...so that I
This is all I have, can somebody please help me?
