I've always wondered that as well. Maybe in a blog you can share any kind of story, I don't know.

Edit: From what I can tell the creative sections of the website are not unduly censored, but anything graphically over-the-top probably won't be tolerated. There is a lot of latitude.

I think the main reason is that we do have high-school and younger kids using the site, and the mods want to keep the site welcoming toward them.

That's my understanding as well.
On the other hand, a writer who is resourceful, creative, and clever enough can say anything he or she wants to say through a number of ingenious ways. By that I don't mean trying to put one over the censor, but again, it can be done. For instance, all these decades later I'm still scratching my head over how "The Rocking-Horse Winner" appears in so many high school textbooks, some of which are used in Catholic schools.
