experimental albeit a worthy question to pause oh and let's definitely take God out of the equation I am to believe he has nothing to do with love. ;)
so? :)

There are six people who love me, 4 family members and 2 friends with whom I'm so close they may as well be family. If I moved forever to antarctica tomorrow they'd be the only ones to at all miss me. I don't know what you mean by "love you more than anyone," as these people love others too.

well it is interesting that you are not sure what it actually means.
I mean to say is there someone who loves you more then others or is the act of loving is particular depending on who is who?
is there such a thing as favouritism is what I am trying to bring it to. :)

Any question that can be asked is okay to ask. Credit given for that. However,
1. There is no way to get God out of the equation without first putting God into the equation. You have no power to do that.
2. Love is a choice we have, given strictly by His Grace. Not something to be understood as declared by God to be His mandate, for, if it were so, there could be no hatred.
3. Your question can have no answer the way it's asked. You will never know. It's just a hope personal morality might dictate. Only those who love can know of having made that choice. You can know of having made that choice, but cannot know that others have made that choice. Salvation from hatred is personal. And needless to say, love can be used in hateful ways, out of condescension, for example.

haha. I have to power to say. doing is something different. I believe god that is neither proven nor disaproven is a concept and therefore immune to feelings. I could not feel towards someone or something that does is not present.
2. Love is a choice we have, given strictly by His Grace. Not something to be understood as declared by God to be His mandate, for, if it were so, there could be no hatred.
I would say love is a natural momentum. a choice is approved or disapproved. to have feelings is innate and therefore instinctive.
what is instinctive is spontaneous and therefore choice has nothing to do with it.
3. Your question can have no answer the way it's asked. You will never know.
interesting. why would I not know? I know feelings when I see them and if I do not would I would ask. see in this situation I have to choice to enquire if I am not sure. I am usually sure however because I am instinctive I can tell love from none.
It's just a hope personal morality might dictate. Only those who love can know of having made that choice. You can know of having made that choice, but cannot know that others have made that choice. well it is said love is blind. well one cannot chose who to fall in love with in the same breath that one cannot chose not love or to fall out of love. it is tricky. one cannot mess with feelings as if they were a string in a guitar one can just change tune or untune.
I am not sure how love can be used in hateful ways. may be you would like to elaborate on that.
about salvation I do not get it either. :)

Rimbaud would puke at this answer. If those two friends are a "girlfriend" and a "best friend" then your girlfriend will be performing fellatio on your best friend within a month of your departure to Antarctica.

Whatever. Your reply makes zero sense to begin with, but I was referring in my post to a homosexual man and a chaste mormon girl, so your prediction is a few billion kilometres off the mark.

Oh yeah! My "girlfriend" wouldn't wait a month. She wouldn't wait a week. She'd do 'em on the way home from dropping me off at the airport. They will both have brought me to catch the first of a series of long flights that would eventually land me on Pegasus Ice Runway near McMurdo Station, Antarctica. I'd be a little suspicious but I'd tell myself that because I am going to Antarctica to directly participate in experiments on hibernation; experiments important for the nation, science and necessary for solving problems in inter galactic space travel, they wouldn't be unfaithful to me. My girl friend looks like Kate Upton and gets off on science geeks. My best friend, a Phd. in Physics, has a large penis and is the director of the program administering the experiments which the insiders predict will fail. That's what would be the reality if I were going to Antarctica.

I wasn't making any predictions. I said: "If" expressing a condition that was not met. As I expected. Therefore, it ends up being merely an expression of general cynicism about human behavior under circumstances of temptation. .

Yeah well that does nothing to explain the reasoning behind your impudently sophomoric statement that my prior post would induce vomiting in Rimbaud.

Fair enough. You're absolutely right. You deserve that much. My reasoning is based on historical facts about Rimbaud's experiences growing up and on the text of things he wrote. Rimbaud was angry at the world because his father abandoned the family when Rimbaud was very young and his mother was cold, withdrawn, unloving, and severe. Rimbaud's brother never spoke with him after their teen years. Rimbaud never felt loved. Rimbaud rebelled against conventional societal institutions. He dropped out of the French version of high school.; He would have replied with contempt at self indulgent expressions of familial love and all this "people who love me" stuff. Rimbaud never really loved anybody. (Maybe his mother. Maybe Verlaine, but I doubt it) Rimbaud might have replied as described in Season In Hell: "On all joy to strangle it, I pounced with the stealth of a wild beast." A Season In Hell, translated by Louise Varese, New Directions; or as described in the first Seer Letter to George Izambard where Rimbaud describes his favorite past time: "I am getting myself cynically kept. I unearth old embeciles from our school. The stupidest, rottenest, meanest things I can think of in words or deeds I serve up to them..." From preface to Illuminations translated by Louise Varese, New Directions. Anything warm and tender Rimbaud would tear to shreds. He taught me to be careful about revealing that which is the most personal. Rimbaud made his revelations through a technique, a language he called "alchimie du verbe." In one of his poems Rimbaud refers to sinister people being in no hurry to use their knowledge of your weaknesses.

As a teenager that was his attitude. Who knows what kind of things he would have thought or written as a fully matured man. For instance, later on he wrote these things to his family:
"But I think about you, and I think only about you."
"It is my greatest pleasure to hear from you."
"As far as I'm concerned, I'm sorry I never married and had a family.... Alas! What are these comings and going for, these hardships and these adventures among strange races, these languages the head is full of, these nameless difficulties, if I am not someday, some years hence, to be able to get some rest in a place I find more or less agreeable, and to get a family, and have at least one son that I can spend my life bringing up in my own way....''
And if you are right about Rimbaud, I think he would sympathize with what I said, with the fact that only 6 people would miss me, would even know I was gone, if I vanished tomorrow.

That was his attitude during his teenage years; the period when he was creative, when he was writing poetry. The peiod during which he developed the world view he represents. The period which mattered. Yes those other quotes you give are from Rimbaud's letters to his mother from Africa. Literarily in terms of interpreting his poetry, those letters don't matter too much. Rimbaud turned into a very practical guy. He wrote home asking for all kinds of how-to books. "Every form of knowledge..." He gave up poetry but he still wanted to be the "supreme savant."

I don't think Rimbaud can really be fully understood without taking stock of the contents of his later letters. I think those letters are profoundly meaningful and it is an act of falsification to disregard them. Perhaps they indicate how unsustainable was his adolescent Icarian fervour of spirit. I find great significance in the person, not just in the poems.

My Creator loves me more than anyone else in the world. All the relationships are transitory in this world. Everyone leave the other in pain or in difficult times but it is only God who helps and stand by a person in hard times.

I think faith is more likely to play a role in alleviating pain and helping make sense of it all. god is merely the driving force behind it. :)

Hi :)
I trust "meme" is a word formed from the Greek term "mimesis" which means "to immitate". Thus a "meme" is something that is replicated using part of it as identical, and having a common meaning for those who employ it. The term itself is a neologism, and not particularly a good one in my view, but it seems to be here to stay now.
Kyriakos is the secular version of the monastic (byzantine) name Kyriakos (which is pronounced slightly differently in its monastic version). It means "of the god/lord". So "lordian" more or less. It is my christian name.
