This is my first review, so please tell me how I can improve my reviews. Basically, review my review please.
Poison Study is a fantasy novel. It is set in the fictional country of "Ixia". The main character "Yelena" is about to be executed after a year in the dungeons. But the Commander(the ruler of Ixia)'s Bodyguard, "Valek" summons her and offers her the position of being the commander's food tester, a job reserved for the first in line for execution. So, without giving much away, that's the setting for the plot. This book has a fairly interesting plot, and a quite few twists and turns. The main characters Yelena and Valek are given quite interesting back-stories and are pretty deep, but the side characters, I noticed, are not given much importance. They are quite shallow, but have basic personalities, not that this detracts much from the story, as the story is strictly about Yelena and her interactions. I would recommend this book to anyone who like fantasy adventures with a hint of romance, but it's not for kids as there is quite an explicit rape scene. Overall an excellent book, and I would recommend it to most people.
