Aphorism #89 Know Yourself

--in talents and capacity, in judgment and inclination. You cannot master yourself unless you know yourself. There are mirrors for the face but none for the mind. Let careful thought about yourself serve as a substitute. When the outer image is forgotten, keep the inner one to improve and perfect. Learn the force of your intellect and capacity for affairs, test the force of your courage in order to apply it, and keep your foundations secure and your head clear for everything.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=yIl2AUoC8zA (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=yFrlCxPccCo:De7qknnCW4A:yIl2A UoC8zA) http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=qj6IDK7rITs (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=yFrlCxPccCo:De7qknnCW4A:qj6ID K7rITs)

I think what he's talking about here has to do with ability. Produce a mirror of senses, usefulness. The question is how do you get to know yourself in that regard. In order to do that, you have to try and try to find what you are best at. You will little by little find your best. After many steps you will know yourself in that regard and use it properly. Skip the mirror of the mind which is neither here nor there. This is obviously an antiplatonic position.
Once you know yourself you will be able to use it for teamwork with others that have done the same. And there is always some room for improvement as you evolve.
