Anyone interested in sci-fi, especially space operas check out Galactic Battlefront. It's a new series which follows two soldiers of a universe-wide peacekeeping organization known as the Universal Order. They protect and mediate many of the diverse species and groups coexisting throughout the cosmos while tracking down the ultimate threat; a powerful warlord who is behind most of the corruption and crime that plague us all, a being that many won't even admit still exists. You can read a lot of background info and several short stories on the website for free at www.gbuniverse.com and the first book is called Galactic Battlefront: Chronicles of a UO Soldier.

Had a look at the website, and I'll have to pass. No creator credits anywhere, for starters.

The short stories begin with long paragraphs of dry, wordy exposition that pushed me away right off the bat, and the dry, wordy, humorless, by-the-numbers storytelling (not to mention the numerous grammar and punctuation fails) finished the job. This makes the asking price of $9.99 for a "full-length book", which is roughly $2 more than a professionally-written and edited paperback, less than reasonable IMO.

If they think they have something to add to the military/space opera genre, then by all means they should write it. But presenting this kind of amateurism as being finished-product quality, and asking for more money than an actual finished product costs, will kill off their potential audience before they even get started.
