Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and joined to hopefully get some help on my essay. I'm using structuralism to analyze the story The Things They Carried and write a six page essay. I'm starting to run low on ideas so I was hoping I might be able to get enough information here to write another paragraph or two. The next paragraph I was hoping to write would talk about the use of repetition in the story. O'Brian uses a great deal of repetition, like constantly bringing up "The things they carried" and thinking about his love back home. How could this help the author make a point? Why does he use constant repetition? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
