Inexplicably
I find myself drawn to her
Like a moth to a flame.
Causing memories
Of past lives together to
Sear my mind with her name.
Perhaps once
She was my virgin princess
And not the goddess of lust.
Longing again
For her to touch my heart
To love me and own me.
Forever as before.

Are we talking reincarnation?
Perhaps once
She was my virgin princess
And not the goddess of lust.
Rather demeaning. . . reducing a person to a label.
Longing again
For her to touch my heart
To love me and own me.
Forever as before.
I have to say it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep a straight face when reading your lurve poems. Barry White is alive and well, apparently, and his name is now Jett Black (there's a kind of irony there isn't there?).
So far from being a meaningful poem it's scary.

A beautiful poem reflecting on reincarnation and the love of a life....you are a romantic! Something many have lost.

Barry White has made a fortune and a two-time Grammy Award-winner known for his romantic images through words. There is nothing wrong with being a romantic...it keeps life warm and full of spice!
I enjoy romantic poetry...to each their own.

There's a huge difference between romantic love songs and romantic poetry. Compare Barry Manilow or Michael Bolton and Shelley or John Donne. There's no poetry here.

You should be happy, dude. At least your thread gets replies! Mine gets a couple perhaps every other blue moon?

No really, 'moth to a flame'? There isnt really anything more cliched in a love poem, except maybe comparing your love to a rose, a red red one.
