Hey everybody, I'm Hayley.
I'm a Professional Writing and Editing student at NMIT, backdooring my way into arts at uni. I'm currently sitting on my couch, trying to find inspiration for a short story (2000-6000 words) and I'm coming up with absolutely nothing. I am horrible at writing plans so I thought if people could just chuck some ideas at me then I could mash them all together and get something going. I'm under the pump a little bit because I edit furiously and I need this done by June 5th or something like that. So far all I have is two paragraphs about being hungover, which is extremely boring. Anyways, if people want to start flinging ideas at me that would be awesome! I'll buy you a soy chai or some other hipstery delicious drink.

What kind of stuff do you like to write and read?

It varies a lot, I'm in the process of reading Breakfast of Champions, Perfume and a rock biography, so that's all pretty different. I've been writing mainly articles for a while so I'm just stumped on where to start with a creative piece. I've written a vague character plan but the headings "intro", "contention" and "resolve" have very large blank spaces underneath them. I'm a carlton hermit, so thinking outside this little hub is very difficult.
