Posters, if your story is not a story but an exercise in one aspect of writing (action, setting, dialogue, etc.), please state up front exactly what you are and are not looking for, rather than informing helpful critiquers after the fact that they're pointing out something you already know and don't care about. Telling people who are trying to help you that they've wasted their time is a good way not to get any more of their time.
Caveat: If your disclaimer is going to be that it's a first draft you know is full of typos and grammar errors, please don't bother posting it at all until you've cleaned it up. Would you bring your mother into a roach-infested apartment and ask her to just ignore that part and give her opinion on the rest? Many, many people here don't speak English natively, and allowances will be made, but at least look like you're trying to help us help you.
