Grit

Arms surround my body,
gripping, clenching, bone.
High cry in morning,
I thought I lied alone.
Eyes begin to bleed
grinning jackal laughs.
The clock strikes never,
always comes too fast.
Side by side we die
with each mossy breath.
Laughing at what is,
anybody's guess.
Slice in to the sun
molten gold will flow.
Eat up every ray,
no one else can know.
I have lost the light,
deep retinal burn.
Bother not, gruesome
piles of no concern.
Mewling mess of moths
as drawn from the mouth.
Soul screams in silence,
now there's no one else.
gripping, clenching, bone.
High cry in morning,
I thought I lied alone.
Eyes begin to bleed
grinning jackal laughs.
The clock strikes never,
always comes too fast.
Side by side we die
with each mossy breath.
Laughing at what is,
anybody's guess.
Slice in to the sun
molten gold will flow.
Eat up every ray,
no one else can know.
I have lost the light,
deep retinal burn.
Bother not, gruesome
piles of no concern.
Mewling mess of moths
as drawn from the mouth.
Soul screams in silence,
now there's no one else.
