Aphorism #49 Observation and Judgment.

A man with these rules things, not they him. He sounds at once the profoundest depths; he is a phrenologist by means of physiognomy. On seeing a person he understands him and judges of his inmost nature. From a few observations he deciphers the most hidden recesses of his nature. Keen observation, subtile insight, judicious inference: with these he discovers, notices, grasps, and comprehends everything.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=yIl2AUoC8zA (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=Ry9LJgwC5Vc:gz2_Kg6Bn74:yIl2A UoC8zA) http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=qj6IDK7rITs (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=Ry9LJgwC5Vc:gz2_Kg6Bn74:qj6ID K7rITs)

Indirect thinking is the key to draw appropriate inferences. Called "weak proof" by the fascist, it is indirect thinking that always took men of knowledge to the strongest science as well as art.
