True Love

Mary was deeply in love with John that she only wanted to be with him the whole time; she thought that he was the perfect match for her in this whole world.

On the other side that’s what he also thought. In his mind she was the only one that he wanted in this life and no other person would make him happy rather than her.

They loved spending time together and missed every second they were apart from each other.

They had to get married, to have the most enjoyable life. Once they got married everything else would just be a simple detail and there could be nothing in this life that their love can’t overcome.

And it was the day they were finally going to get married.

One beautiful summer day, where the sun was shining up in the sky with its full bright face just as if it was smiling up on them was their day. It was the day where their path had combined in one.

Everyone envied their smile and the love they had for each other. The times when they looked at each other the sparkles in their eyes were obvious. The white daisies were spreading the smell of love to everywhere and not even a moment the birds stopped chirping their love song for them. There was only one person missing in that wedding, the one who took care of her all her life, someone who worked twice as hard just so she could have perfect future and someone who loved her without expecting to be loved. It was her mother.

Their first days were marvelous and full of love. They went everywhere together and have done everything together. As the time passed their love was overtaken by the feeling of hate. Each and every day their love towards each other got lesser and their hate was taken in place of it.

All the places they went together they were faking as if they were deeply still in love. They did not want people to know that the great love they had for each other to be over. This whole situation was bothering them and they started to question where the infinite love they had for each other was gone to. They were thinking… thinking… and thinking… but there was not an answer to that question.

One day Mary just wanted to take a break from her marriage life and wanted to visit her mother that she hasn’t seen for so long. When she arrived to her mother house there was a deep silence for a little while, then she broke the silence with three simple words “Mom, I missed you!”

Then they hugged each other and talked for hours and hours there it was the true and the purest love. After hours and hours of talking there was a moment of silence, where they both were hesitating to about that topic. Mary wanted to talk to her mom about her marriage.

Then she said the first things that should’ve been said in the beginning; “I’m not happy, mom.” Her mom just replied as if she knew everything and said “I know”. She knew her daughter was not happy because she was a mom and mom knew exactly how their daughters felt. She didn’t even have to see the pain in her eyes, no matter how far she was she always felt her daughter’s pain in her heart.

She asked “why mom? Why? How come our love towards each other had finished wasn’t it supposed to grow even more?”

She held her daughters hand and said “you both loved someone else rather than each other, yes you did want each other, but that was about it. You both never loved each other. He loved himself, and you loved yourself, even though you both had married and lived together, you both never united as one. You both were too selfish, to love someone else.” Then there was a silence for a moment. And she continued “this is why I was against you marriage and kept silent about it. I wanted you to see the truth and experience it. You were too blind to see the truth; so my opinions wouldn’t have mattered at the time.”

Mary hugged her mom tightly as if she said “Never let me go again…”

Now she knew that in her life the only true love she had was her mom, and that was because mothers are never selfish when they are loving their children, and most important of all they never expect to be loved back. Even if there is a mistake done, they are always forgiven.
