CROSS OF THE LIVING GOD # 1

Cross of the living God
Cast your gentle shadow
Keep us safe within its lee
And I will always know
You will answer my Prayer
Because you’re always there
Gentle Jesus, Gentle God

THE ATHEISTS LAST WORDS

The atheist spent his whole life
Denying the existence of a deity
Preached to all who would listen
The atheist thoughts of his reality
He even stated that the universe
Was created quite accidently
Even on his final day on earth
He was content there was no deity
But a moment before he crashed
He cried out “oh God help me”

GOD WINDS THE CLOCK OF LIFE

God winds the clock of life,
It is wound but once
And when set in motion,
At the moment the second hand
Begins its sweep
It can be neither slowed
Nor hurried
There is no hint of duration
No preset point
When the hands cease
The only certainty
Is that the time piece will stop
All you can do is be ready for that day
Leave nothing unsaid
Nothing undone
Place your faith in God
And not the timepiece
Live your allotted time fully
And have no regrets
When the movement stops
At the appointed hour

MY SOUL WAS FORGED IN HEAVEN

My soul was forged in heaven
And my heart was filled with love
My faith is as strong as iron
I am akin to the angels above
Until my soul returns to heaven
And I bask in eternal love

UBIQUITOUS GOD

Omnipresent,
Omnipotent
Omniscient being
Ever present,
All powerful
All knowing, all seeing
Awesome,
Ubiquitous God
Of our spiritual wellbeing
Of everlasting life,
Salvation guaranteeing

CROSS OF THE LIVING GOD # 2

Cross of the living god
Shine into the darkness
Keep us safe in your light
And you will always bless
Because you’re always there
Answering all my Prayer
Gentle Jesus, Gentle God

A SONG TO SING IN HEAVEN

A song to sing in heaven
Where the holy angels tread
So sang my heart in joy
The word of God was spread

I HAVE AN ANGEL ON MY DASHBOARD

I have an Angel on my dashboard
She’s my special lucky charm
I have an angel on my dashboard
Who’s keeping me from harm

I AM SO BLESSED

I am so blessed
To have a family
A caring network
Who look after me

I am so blessed
To have with me
A circle of friends,
Who are like family

I am so blessed
To have in every way
God in my life
Each and every day

YOU MAKE MY LIFE WHOLE

You make my life whole
You fill it with your zest
With your loving presence
Dear lord I am truly blessed

YOU MAY NOT ALWAYS ANSWER

You may not always answer
When I offer up my prayer
But the most important thing is
I always know you’re there

CROSS OF THE LIVING GOD # 3

Cross of the living God
Shine light into the darkness
To every corner of the globe
Embellishing the starkness

Cross of the living God
Keep us safely in your light
Protect us every waking hour
And watch us through the night

"Even on his final day on earth
He was content there was no deity
But a moment before he crashed
He cried out “oh God help me”"

Most likely.

and

"Ubiquitous God
Of our spiritual wellbeing
Of everlasting life,
Salvation guaranteeing"

I find that very interesting. Why not "FROM everlasting life?"
I think I get your point. It reminded me of Freda Kahlo in "I hope I don't come back."

"Keep us safe within its lee" — Nice imagery. Considering how narrow the cross is. for it to offer any form of shelter, that alone is miraculous.

THE ATHEISTS LAST WORDS — LOL

Enjoyed the down-to-earthness of I HAVE AN ANGEL ON MY DASHBOARD. I have a cross hanging from my rearview mirror. Probably the reason I'm still here and commenting...

GOD WINDS THE CLOCK OF LIFE — even though it's a common theme, your delivery is good and thought provoking.

For the rest, thanks for sharing.

All of these are heartfelt, no doubt. I don't know about the angel on the dashboard one, though; it reminds me of the much-lampooned "country" song: "I don't care if it rains or freezes/Long as I have my plastic Jesus/Riding on the dashboard of my car/I can go a 'hunnert' miles an hour?Long as I have that almighty power/" and so on.

The atheist one shows your signature wit, though, and is the best of this lot.

“This is a series of stories of what it looks like to walk with God, over the course of about a year.”

So begins a remarkable narrative of one man’s journey learning to hear the voice of God. The details are intimate and personal. The invitation is for us all. What if we could hear from God . . . often? What difference would it make?

We have a lot to sort through on any given day. A whole lot to navigate over the course of a week or a month. Am I in the right place? The right relationships? How am I going to come up with enough money to do the things I want to do? And what about love—is this the one? Will it last? What is causing all those fears I keep pushing down inside? Why can’t I overcome those “habits” that look more and more like addictions? Am I at the right church? Should I even go to church? What is God doing in my life?

All day long we are making choices. It adds up to an enormous amount of decisions in a lifetime. How do we know what to do?

We have two options.

We can trudge through on our own, doing our best to figure it all out.

Or, we can walk with God. As in, learn to hear his voice. Really. We can live life with God. He offers to speak to us and guide us. Every day. It is an incredible offer. To accept that offer is to enter into an adventure filled with joy and risk, transformation and breakthrough. And more clarity than we ever thought possible.

I loved the way you put it. No facts can give us the will of God. We don't own anything that is not His Grace. There the world is our church. If we want a specific church, we choose a denomination for the purpose of congregating with others in the spreading of love.
There are many interpretatiions of the famous statement that "faith is the evidence of things unseen." One is the idea that children must obey what they are told about the evidence. Such is not genuine. There is a genuine position in realizing the lack of evidence when it comes to what's his will. It is there that we realize that we don't know enough, but we also realize that such is precisely the evidence of things unseen. So, in God we trust and we stand by His Grace. That is the beginning of actual, mature thought. We choose love as the way. God bless you.

Seems to me only denial of the facts will lead to faith in God. Thankfully for faith and religion there are many people prepared to put aside the common sense and rationality that gets them through their every day and invest in a near certain falsity for their own mental comfort.
