So exactly how do you promote your self-published work?

Hello:

This is my first post and wanted to say hello.

Also would appreciate any tips or ideas on how to promote my work.

I have two books that I feel fall into the non-fiction self help category.
The one I am presently working/promoting is something that everyone
has a need for.

Not much for writing novels just reading them.

My favorite is probably Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes fan
just shortly after Doctor Who.

It's difficult. One way is to start of a blog with topics relating to your book (don't recopy your book) and promote that around and hope to spread readership via social media and such. If you can get people interested in your ideas, writing style, or hopefully both, you will have better luck selling your works.
