Hi everione!

I know this is my first post on the forum, but my intentions are pure; :smile5:
I'm excited to introduce you to the OPENOVEL PROJECT

The first goal is to creat a Collaborative serial story!
you are invited to take part and continue the story on our twitter page (See signature below). When a chapter is done you would be abole to come and read it on the blog (See signature below) and if you want, here on the forum. The ultimate goal is to write a full-length book!

The project is collaborative and non-profit.

There are only four rules:
-Tweet a day, no more
-Do not send a two tweets sequence
-Trolls are not allowed (Do not feed them)
-And of course, there will be no tolerance towards not kind or disrespectful behavior.

We come to learn from the project. So, feel free to make suggestions. (And of course I will never tire of hearing how cool the project is).

Cheers!

I tend to think it's rather uncool actually. I can't think of a more pointless exercise. Whenever I'm working on a novel the last thing I want is to join a committee and start conforming to 'rules'. 140 characters per entry? How can that possibly lead to a cohesive paragraph let alone a chapter?

But no doubt there are others on here who will jump at the chance. . . good luck.

Dear hillwalker, thank you for your messege!
I tend to be more optimistic :)

The aim of the rules is to allow as many people as possible to be able to take part in the project (I don't want the content be written by few individuals)
I chose Twitter specifically because of the limitation number of characters

I think the result will be very intriguing.

The only possible result of a "collaborative serial story" is a directionless potpourri that's fun for the participants to write until they lose interest. There's a few on this forum; you should have a look.

He's never been to this site, obviously. We've had our fun with this type of exercise, and know it leads nowhere. Even TV, the king of bad writing, limits the number of writers assigned to a project. I'd say more-but I'm out of my number of characters!

I agree with the others. I don't see how this will be anything other than a non-cohesive mess jumping around in tiny snippets. Honestly sounds like an awful read, and that's before you told me about it being on twitter. I despise twitter. It's a lazy way of self expression and another step towards stupidity under the guise of modernity.

Still good luck.
