is it better to speak your mind regardless or say what is expected of you?

It depends on whether you work on the maxim
'Engage Brain Before Operating Mouth';
or the one that says
'Open Mouth and Insert Foot'.
I suppose your choice depends on how dangerously you like to live. :biggrin5:

'Open Mouth and Insert Foot'
That is a killer saying.:) I could not help but visualise it and the action is not pleasant unless it is fetish one is hoping to achieve.
I do like to live decently and adventurously but not dangerously as such. I think to strike a balance between saying what you think and saying what you really think. It is perhaps easier in written then in face to face but then I could be wrong. I tend to speak my mind if the person has say upset me or wound me up otherwise it is what is needed rather then wanted.

Sometimes it is better to not even think the thoughts that one ends up speaking, but that is more difficult than not saying them.
I liked your current signature especially the part starting with "de jour en jour". I assume this is one of your French poems since the style seems similar.

It does depend because it is better to say then not. Sometimes it is better to hear the truth then not.

Thank you YesNo this is part of the French poems I write. :)
