Once upon an inspiration
I had been woken from a deep sleep,
And upon, spoken to by a high spirit
Who had called me to spread my wings.

And there having looked at she,
Much doubt arose in my eyes,
But without another word,
I had been given wings and became a sparrow.

And there I was given instruction
To spread out and find a home.
And dance with the light of day
And sleep with the glory of the stars.

And doing as told
I spilled out into the edge of a desert
And hung by a spring, and drank of its water;
And felt the cool breeze nuzzle through my back
And into my wings.

And I stood up as a tiny sparrow
And lofted my wings, and doing so
I became a majestic eagle with talons
And took to flight over the desert realm.

And under the moon of the most glorious
I saw a reflection, a spirit of the highest calling,
And an echo reverberated down below,
In through the canyons and across the plain.

And then a great arch appeared above the nigh,
Like a deity showing the way home.
And its beam penetrated into the deep depths of the sky,
Into the surreal lands of ether.

And a voice spoke saying
"I have given you wings to fly my son -
To fly towards me.
For no matter the weight or size
I have made them for thee;
So you will know
You will not be far from me;
For what I gave, I gave to use,
So you can find me."

And having heard,
I renewed my faith
And never lost sight again.
