Mr. Eager knows some people can be shy. He gives you some information on symptoms of this possible "disease". He makes a brief reference to a facility located in Phoenix that specializes in phobias. Mr. Eager hopes to one day lecture the college circuit explaining this concept in more hefty detail.

Thoughts on Selective Mutism
by Bob Eager

Can't say a word in certain situations
Examples are Public Speaking and small group discussions.

Suffering from symptoms of Selective Mutism,
Definition can be explored

Look for the Social Anxiety Institute

Located on Cave creek.

Remember in school
Don't call on me,
You say rolling your eyes
and looking at your watch
five more minutes.

Have you ever been in an airport
sitting in a restaurant,
Everyone around you is on their cell phones
no one talks to each other
Same as you
Do not worry
Just like them
You are only selectively mute.

Good points. It could also be called selective speakism, which completes the two parts of selective reasoning.

More prose than poetry, but it's the thought that counts. Whether it's verse or prose, though, maybe you might want to sweep it for grammatical errors: inconsistency in tenses and especially in p.o.v. (mix of second and third persons in the pronouns.) Also, error in noun/pronoun agreement:
Everyone around you is on their cell phones

Everyone around . . . is on his cellphone. (Both noun and pronoun should agree in number, in this case, singular.)

You certainly have a way with stringing out your titles until they distract from what follows - maybe 'Selective Mutism' is enough in this particular instance?

Then instead of posting the poem you introduce some guy called Mr. Eager. It's a bit like a doctor using his Bugs Bunny glove puppet to administer an injection to a child patient. Why the ludicrous preamble? Is it perhaps a thinly disguised job application?
Mr. Eager hopes to one day lecture the college circuit explaining this concept in more hefty detail.

You then deliver your poem - which, of course, isn't a poem. It's a series of bullet points regarding selective mutism - or maybe spam??

All that's missing are your hourly rates.

If this is a poem then I'm a meerkat.

Auntie becomes agreeable with th pronouns. LOL

Yeah, but sometimes Auntie herself has trouble with grammar. Not only do some of her nouns and pronouns disagree, they engage in all-out warfare.

And Hill, I enjoy reading your commentary as much as the original posts which they address. You're as entertaining as
John Simon or Christopher Hitchens were!

I like the last 13 lines and what it says about society today, but all the stuff before is a tad confusing.
