So I thought it'd be fun for lit members to try out a journalistic style of writing. I took a journalism class last semester, and loved the creativity to it.

Basically, you write a story, from the vantage point of a reporter. The story can be made up or inspired by true events if you wish. There are basic elements you need for it: Headline, sub-headline, sources(made up) and a focus. The focus is basically the idea you wish to convey with your story.

Like a newspaper has many sections, you are open to do a report in any genre you wish: sports, politics, breaking news, human interest pieces, etc. Unless it's an editorial, youŽll want to avoid pronouns referring to yourself. Be creative, but remember reliable reporters aim for objectivity, unless again of its an editorial or feature story, which can have your opinion and feedback on the issue.

The thread header is "the Daily Lit Forum Herald", but if someone would like to come up with a name of the newspaper, feel free to share it.

Let's have fun with this!

Hi Shaman would you like to start with an example.
Also can I ask: Why is it called a Herald?

Reporters are very different than critics. They need to be descriptive if they are any good and don't intend disinformation. We have some icons like Wallace, Rather, Nader, Morgan, E. Burnett, etc., for example.
