i request your help in recovering a classic dialogue contained in one of the 100 greatest books of all time published by franklin library some years back.
the conversation i recall is with a conquering commander and a brave warrior. the commander informs the warrior that he has the power to run the warrior through, and the warrior replies, 'i have the power to be run through.' the warrior additionally informs the commander that if his wife is allowed to live then he will give his life fighting for the commander from that time on. it seems to be a 18/19th century setting.
