Normally, our lecturers tell us to avoid inputting our own opinion into essays e.g "I propose that". However, this term one has asked us to do so. What good phrases can be used when giving your own opinion in an academic essay?

You are able to provide an opinion without explicitly stating it. You can still avoid first person - or "I" - statements and still give an opinion. It all stems from a good thesis. Your thesis should state your opinion and be backed up with evidence from whatever sources you have.

Inputting own opinion in essays?
How is one suppose to write anything then?
An essay highlights new ideas of your own otherwise there is no need to write anything. It seems ludicrous that lecturers encourage students not to use own views opinions to write and then the next they do. It is malpractice.
The only phrases I can think of that you can use is I believe this because.
I think this because .I am sure that this because ..I and why you think it is.
