No one but one,
crosses this plain in the night,
overhead the glitters and sparks,
with a glow of the moon which haunts
head down I stay.

The moon's shadow next to me,
my friend, traveler, companion
it's me.

The pack I left,
a mates glow long gone,
the light of the moon,
torments and haunts.

To a stop, I stagger,
tired from the road,
Surrender my head up,
howling just myself
cold with no home.

A full moon with a face,
her eyes pierce mine,
how long without you
can I endure this strife?

But nevertheless,
travel on I will go,
her moon's light will follow me,
no escape, all is known.

It's in the end I'll see,
hiding in my shadow all along,
the lone wolf's mate remains,
howling at the moon with me.
