As I waste another day,
I wish there was some other way.
To live my life without the tease,
Of knowing we could all live in ease.

If we all would just awake,
Better days we all could make.
Without the struggle, pain, or fear,
We could create a better year.

I can not do it all alone,
And to try would break my every bone.
These dreams of peace and harmony,
I wish in a way did not come to me.

But it is not a weight that I can lift,
And some might even say it's a gift.
They say in this darkness I could be a light,
And yes, I would be willing to lead this fight.

But lead I can not if no one will follow,
And that my friends, fills my heart with sorrow.
These feelings inside I need to shake,
For I can feel my soul about to break.

These hours of my life I will never get back,
It seems these feelings I will never lack.
I just wish I could find the way,
To never again waste another day

This is the first poem I ever attempted although I've kept journal entries for years.
I've never researched how to correctly write a poem and I forgot everything I learned
about haiku's and such from English class unfortunately; but hey it rhymes and I thought it had
some depth to it. I've never shared anything I've wrote publicly aside from Facebook but all my
friends and family seemed to enjoy it, or maybe they were just shocked I wrote a poem and told them.
Anyhow, it turns out watching paint dry at work gives you some inspiration even if it's of the darker nature.

This is just a poem I wrote for my mother one day when I was bored:

To my Mom, this I write,
Whom I love with all my heart.
Forever shall she be a light,
May we never grow apart.

To make a short story long,
This woman is oh so strong.
Through her endless love in every way,
Is how I became who I am today.

I'll never be able to repay her dedication,
But this is a token of my appreciation.
Through all the good times and the bad,
Knowing she is my Mom makes me glad.

From raising me as a little child,
Flushing away the crazy and wild,
To making me go to school,
Even though I thought it wasn't cool.

To molding me into an adolescent,
I bet that was tons of fun, wasn't it?
I'm sorry for all the fits and fights,
But I think we both knew in time it would be all right.

From moving away and coming back,
Never faith in me did you lack.
I just wanted to call and say thank you for your endless love in every way,
And creating the young man I am today.
