Green Eggs and Ham was famously written as the result of a bet by Theodore Geisel's editor, Bennett Cerf, that Geisel couldn't write a book using only 50 words.

So, just for fun, what can you write using only these 50 words? You don't have to force in all of them if it doesn't work for the piece, but bonus points if you do.

The words are: a, am, and, anywhere, are, be, boat, box, car, could, dark, do, eat, eggs, fox, goat, good, green, ham, here, house, I, if, in, let, like, may, me, mouse, not, on, or, rain, Sam, say, see, so, thank, that, the, them, there, they, train, tree, try, will, with, would, you.

Hmmm, interesting challenge, Calidore. I will have to give it a little bit of thought.

Holy Mackinaw! This is difficult. Here's my best try.

“I could do so in the dark, would you eat them with me?” I say in the rain.

“A box with them in it is not eggs, will they be good?”

“Good like a mouse or a green goat.”

“Sam,” you say, “you see the dark do you not?”

“I am the dark.” I say.

“I will try if you like.” You say.

“I will train you.” I say, a good Sam.

“If I let you.” You say.

You and I be in the house and in the dark and there they are. You box on them and they try and see. The fox is on them and they are not good.

They would be on a tree if they could so I thank the tree for not.

“You will try them with me?” I say.

Many basic words missing in this fifty that I kept wanting to use and then realizing they weren't included.

Hey, I can almost do the ending of Se7en:

"That box. Let me see in the box."

"I will not."

"Do not say that. Here, let me see."

"You may not. If I let you, you would not thank me."

"I will see in that box."

"Do not...!"
