A mother is a woman who has raised a child, given birth to a child, and/or supplied the ovum that united with a sperm which grew into a child.Wikipedia
This definition is the most simple and universally claimed one of Mother. But....?????? Nowadays the motherhood ,as an entity, are divided and categorized in several different stages and steps and, thus different values of bonding. The duties of being a Mother in today's era are shared by more than one female. One provides is a supplier of cells another carries the by- product during the gestational period (surrogate??) and delivers.Lest another breeder and one who raises. Pretty confusing??? oh yes it is but what about the emotional bonding of the baby , who should the baby consider their real mother? wont it drain these kind of products mentally? what about the consequences when the baby gets to know about it when they have grown up? and who can claim to be the MOther as in Mother?

I do not agree with the definition. A mother is a title given to the female gender and is to portray someone that brings up and cares for children of own or others. A mother is a motivator a leader and an example for others to follow.
Without a mother there is no father and vice versa. Without a woman there is no man and vice versa. Without one being there is not another being and vice versa. I think we know what we are getting at. :)

No cacian, it is not like that. Today, to be a mother is financially a stable and profitable job and what to say about motherhood, it is the most commercialized business and beneficial too, for both parties ( or multiple). In the near future , i dread the day is not far when some percentage of male gender would join the band-wagon and would pursue motherhood as a full time occupation. Now how is that possible i do not know but then what is impossible in this scientifically enhanced generation.
