Chopin's La Belle Zoraïde

Hi everybody,

I'm a graduate student and I have to do my teaching demo on Chopin's story "La Belle Zoraïde". You know, it hard to teach your peers and professor. I have some questions to you hoping somebody can help as soon as possible:
1- How can I relate the story to its setting "louisiana"? Do you have any idea about louisiana lit. or its role in chopin's story or something like this?

2- What is the literal translation of the last two sentences? I know it's written in Creole.

3-What is your comment or reading on this story?

I'm waiting for your responses and any other comments or ideas that I can use it in teaching.
