Hi guys,
I am trying to find a short story that I heard told years ago, and wondered whether any of you might have any ideas about its author or title, or even where I could find it?
The story involves a boy who buys a bouquet of roses for his mum's birthday or mother's day, and walks home with it. On his way, he gets beaten up, the flowers are trampled, dropped in a puddle, and run over. Upon his arrival at home, he presents his mum with the single remaining flattened, drooping flower, greeting her dispondently, at which point she exclaims it is the best present she has ever received.
It made me cry when I first heard it, and on remembrance, a few times since.
I hope someone can help me with this.
Thanks
