Shakespeare on competition

I've seen the following quote repeatedly being attributed to Shakespeare. To me it seems unlikely the bard actually wrote it. Am I wrong?
"If you want to be incrementally better:Be competitive. If you want to be exponentially better:Be cooperative."

Read this one from Bertrand Russell: 'the only thing which will redeem the human people is cooperation', paraphrasing him.
