Aphorism #270 Do not condemn alone that which pleases all.

There must be something good in a thing that pleases so many; even if it cannot be explained it is certainly enjoyed. Singularity is always hated, and, when in the wrong, laughed at. You simply destroy respect for your taste rather than do harm to the object of your blame, and are left alone, you and your bad taste. If you cannot find the good in a thing, hide your incapacity and do not damn it straightway. As a general rule badtaste springs from want of knowledge. What all say, is so, or will be so.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=yIl2AUoC8zA (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=41KsxI9ZCrw:UQwwjdzG5_g:yIl2A UoC8zA) http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?d=qj6IDK7rITs (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/ArtOfWorldlyWisdom?a=41KsxI9ZCrw:UQwwjdzG5_g:qj6ID K7rITs)

I can see how this one could be taken out of context and Balthasar could get a lot of useless reaction. But it is on the mark. Isn't this the essence of democratic progress? And when the same argument took the side of tyranny or worse, didn't what all said came to pass until we beat the hell out of it and moved ahead into freedom? Of course that's the case, and should be well taken in the proposed place of wordly wisdom.
