Oh do not ask what caused it,
you know in your heart it was you and me
and all the members of the human race.
We danced and sang and drank and snorted
and swallowed our sanity away.
We carelessly let them push the buttons
that blew it all away; so don't ask why
it happened. Accept it. The human race
is insane. We danced around the golden calf,
uncaring of the result; we felt a vague trepidation,
but that was all. The feeling running through
our veins and brains drowned all warning.
So here we are in a land of nightmares
with no order, no authority, where chaos rules.
Some call it a breakdown of civilization;
I just call it hell.
