Hi! I'm new to the forum but hope your collective brain power and memory will be able to help me...
When I was at secondary school in England in the late 1960s/early 70s we had a set book in English classes which was a collection of short stories. Each story invariably started with a traveller arriving at a country inn. Here he was regaled by some old rustic sitting outside the pub who, for the price of a pint, would tell him a story. I really enjoyed these tales but I have no recollection of the author or the title of the book. Can anyone help please as I'd love to track the book down - if it's still in print! Many thanks.
