Is there such a thing as literary contentment? Is one satisfied literally and therefore fulfilled emotionally?

I guess not. There are many books that create an atmosphere of despair rather then satisfy and therefore leads to disapointment.

This is the interesting topic cacain, and in fact you always raise interesting topics and I find it a thrill to join you in the discuss some nuanced ideas. Of course we immensely feel despaired rather than delighted and when I read some books. For example when I read Ulysses I always wanted to put down. Yet the thrill that I am was reading a great classic was there and I persisted reading despairingly

Hi osho and nice chatting to you too.
Ulysses if I recall I found emotionally detached because of its ideology.
Why did you want to put it down?
