Contemporary literature and traditional literature

Please guys help me with this question i real need to know what's the different between traditional and contemporary definition of literature and what implications does each definition have for classroom literature teaching method?

It seems like your question is more about traditional teaching of literature and contemporary. In the past, literature was considered more or less the classics, dealing mostly with fiction. Today, other forms of literature are considered, also more recent works vallued, because in theory they would be more close in time or theme to the student. It is more inclusive, of course, but at sametime increase the rift between the reader and classical works.
