Not sure where to begin with this writer. Any tips?

I'd say either Molloy (the first novel in his "Trilogy" set), or Waiting for Godot.

The Irish Film board produced film adaptations of all of Beckett's plays over the past 10-15 years, most of which you can find posted on youtube. They're not all equally good, but there are some good versions. Plus it's nice to see versions of many of the shorter, conceptual plays that don't get performed as much as Waiting for Godot or Endgame.

I'd advise you to just start with the wonderful story of the men waiting for Godot :) hope you'll get the hang of it
