quirky/ unsual/different writing

I find the word quirky interesting. In the world of antiques quirky is most sought after because it is rare unusual and most importantly very different. Quirky stands out from the crowd.
what would define quirky or unusual writing? or how would you go about writing something quirky?

Well, anything that deviates from normal conventions could be seen as quirky, but seeing as how there are many different archetypes popping up when it comes to prose, quirky is hard to come by these days. I guess it depends on what you consider "normal". I consider anything by Gertrude Stein to be quirky; her poetry is fantastic!
