When I was much younger I made New Year's Resolutions, but I stopped about 15 years ago. It's stupid to resolve not to continue something within a continuum. Also, when you quit one thing, you usually have to quit another. Case in point, I couldn't play poker without drinking, I couldn't drink without smoking. And I loved playing poker, which is quite harmless in moderation.
