Christmas Message

Let's not talk about religion
Let's not talk about blood shed
Let's not talk about killing innocent people
Let's not go mad and lose control of our senses
Let's commit to restraint
Let's not do what tyrants have done before
Let's not say religion is all blood shed
For blood shed has also been the act of others
Let's not presume things
Religion or no religion
Killing is a heinous act
But killing of innocent children
men and women
Is worse...
Worse than blasphemy
as bad as Holocaust
Let the strong understand
where do senses stand
Force by no means is good
it has never been good
Killing a hundred to catch one criminal
and assigning it to religion
Is unfair.....
Let religion be or not be
All of us are humans
Let love and humanity prevail

You start the poem "Let's not talk about religion" then in the next 27 lines 'religion' is mentioned a further five times. It clearly is a focus for the poem. It feels as if N is ranting. Killing is a worthy thing to rant about but the overall impression is that N is more trying to defend religion than rail about needless deaths. For this reason the poem suffers maybe from being too diffuse. Feels like an excellent start point for further work.

Killing in the name or cover of religion is as bad as killing by the seculars.....thus if killing has to be blamed it must be attributed to both these factions ,,,this is what am trying to say. I am not defending religion but comparing killing due to religion and non-religion elements which in my opinion is tantamount to the same horrific act against humanity.

I wish humanity would prevail. It is a good message, mazHur, and always relevant, but it seems more so at this time-and I don't mean just that it's Christmas.
