Hi all!

I was wondering, wich books (either poems or novels) does describe mild sex scenes?. I'm asking this, because I need to know which of these books could've been use to
illustrate the theme, like for example, a youngster of the 1930's. Like what kind of literature could have he or she read in order to get this kind of ideas?

I'm looking for books written before 1900 of course.

Thank you.

There was a great deal of censorship way back, many considered even Balzac risqué. In all honesty, I don't know how to help you. You might want to check out all things red-light. All these 'filthy' things were very alive back then, it was simply something that wasn't openly discussed. If I'm not mistaken, Tchaikovsky killed himself because the powers that be were going to make public his homosexuality. All so many taboo thing were, but simply in the shadows of alley and such, everyone knows this. Don't know how to help though, try searching the words antique erotica, see what pops up. The American film Rambling Rose, though set in the early 20th century south, might be helpful; a kid deals with early sexuality. Sort of word of mouth kid's dares and whispers. What a strange question though, still I'm sure there are erotica historian, I'm positive there are, there must be. I'd find one and ask them. Good luck.

Thank you Clovis, it's like very hard to find. I don't mean anything nasty or filthy, just something that suggest the act of love someone. I'll go through erotica historians, see what i can find. Someone suggested me "Orlando" by Woolf; not that it contains erotic stuff, but yet would put a mind to fly. Thank you again.

I didn't think you did. In a way, the attitude of the upright back then bulked all such things as filth. Glad to help.
