For the last few days, Radio 4 has had the comedian/writer Lynne Truss reading out a selection of spoof replies to those inevitable round-robin Christmas letters. They're rather funny:

How do people feel about Christmas newsletters? Perhaps some of you send them? We receive several every year, and I must admit I usually regard them with my standard degree of grouchy disinterest - I find it very hard to get enthusiastic about the trivial victories of the extended family of someone who I have met only a handful of times, and never liked anyway.
I'm now very tempted to do a Lynne Truss...
