Hy, everybody! I'm doing the thesis on American children's literature of 1950s. I have to write a chapter named "HISTORICAL AND SOCIAL BACKGROUND OF 1950s"? I'm not from USA, so I'm using all kinds of differents sources and websites and I don't have access to USA libraries and in addition to that, I'm neither that familiar with USA history. On the websites I found a loads of material, but in your opionion which are the most important characteristics of 1950s that I should include? Starting from history to the society of 1950s? Because there is so many information and I just can't decide what is important and what is not important. I found out that the society of the fifties was very conformist but I need more details cuz I think my prof wants me to focus more on that..If there is anybody willing to help, give some advice or to forward me some useful material, I'll be more than grateful :)
