as I lay awake
dreaming of the late
chanson of the faith
I heard the morning
bells
chiming as they well
ding along a dung

the ringing was floodlight
to my morning wake
the sound a choir raised
was tempo to the might

the magic of the chimes
took me to a time
when bluebells swayed
with hey
along the summer bays
paving petals trays
of crimson blue and grey
dafodils looked faint

the rivers soared
a shine
a golden coat of rays
startling birds of prey
as they paced the day
in glorious moves of waves
the world looked
picture frame

as I lay
awake
I wonder
what ahead may
venerate the faith

This is so evocative and powerful, cacian. I just wondered at the end of the 4th stanza should it say picture "frame" instead of fame?

Hello twist and thank you for reading.
I did wonder myself whether they should be an R or not in fame. I did have frame and then decided maybe fame.
But then on you read it it does come across as if it should be frame. I changed now. Haha.

My favourite line is: 'ding along a dung'
