You feel the same as I, as us all
To say otherwise would be an untruth,
That there is something lacking in our
day to day lives, in the monotony of the
nine to five.
Almost like none of this is real, as if it
were only a dream.
Still there are moments of clarity,
like this one right here,
where certain truths most be shared
and to deny these truths would be a crime.
I don't know exactly what is wrong
though I have some idea.
I don't know how to fix it
but I'm sure we could do better
if you would join me.
I'm sure
we could patch together a better life for
ourselves and maybe
even exit this spin cycle we seem to be
stuck in.
Because I, like you
am tired of the round and round.
Constant motion with no progress.
They tell me that I am young.
That this is merely a phase
soon I will grow out of.
But to me their growth is not growth.
It is more akin to death.
And though we all most die some day
I shall not die today.
Take my hand and search with me
for light on this darkest of days.
There is still time.
We have not yet fossilized
though we are growing stiff
arthritic in the hands and knees.
The time for motion is now.
Take my hand and believe me when I say
The future belong to those
like you and I.

I've become very interested in formatting of poetry and possibly more technical aspects. I realize that if I wish to progress in this art it is something I must grasp. So I would appreciate any technical remarks, while I continue to work on this piece and others.
