Can someone explain to me Trifles by Susan Glaspell?

I do not understand it and what is the "crime"?
What is this crime? How does this play insinuate that this crime is larger than just what happened between Mr. and Mrs. Wright?

The crime is ostensibly the murder of the husband but the wife has endured cruelty from her husband as well. Her neighbours' ignorance of her plight could also be said to be a crime.
