The blue expanse darkened
Slowly turning from one shade of sapphire to another
Until the deepest bluest blue spread across the heavens
The white dreamy clouds of morn were merely darker patches in the sky

A full moon quietly rose
And sent moonbeams into treetops
And cottage windows
Fairies slid down the moonbeams
Their silvery laughter ringing in the still air
And played with children in their dreams

Good description... until the fairies did their stuff. ??
But if you reformatted it as prose it would be prose. Not much in the way of poetry here.

Thanks for your comments hillwalker. I wouldn't write about fairies now! This is another early one, age 17 and I wrote it from memory so it may not be as it was.
