the meaning of life
is as much a path
as a sillouhette bard
a temeraire
a rare
a detailed centigrade
in around the ways

life is born
to guard from a thorn
that shards
in guilt and
is down
to a deeper mort
selfless and abhort

the meaning of life is coined
when a will
has thrown
the old chanson
sone to the open
storms
and is scored
a sold
a vole au vent of
sort

it is then parolled
that a slown
is gone from sullen
to glown
and is about to
mow every corne stone
to a stricter row

perfect is the sow
that grows meadows
everytime it wows

And here I was hoping to find some meaning to this great inanity that is life - but alas: just more nonsense.

Nice to see vol au vents appear in a poem about the meaning of life - it all becomes clear now.

Nice to see humour floating in the air.
What can I say I speak French I am allowed the odd French throw here and there.
Plus notice how vole au vent is written without any hyphens.

The comment was in no way intended to criticise your use of the occasional French phrase - although I am not a French speaker, I love French films.
I thought it was just strange to see such a mundane item in a poem of such immense philosophical intensity.

I now gather vol au vent is a pastry while vole au vent presumably has something to do with wind-blown..

Hi hillwalker I apologise if I appeared brash.
I like a bit of je ne sais quoi in language is gives it a lift and makes it less serious. I say if you have it flaunt and since I speak French then I enjoy throwing in the odd mix of words to challenge the language barriers. I think as a linguist you have to otherwise there is no point in being one.
The beauty of mundane words is that you can give them a place where they can shine again and poetry does just that for me.
Indeed vole au vent as in wind-blown and plays on the imagery of a circular floating shape disappearing or fading in the air/wind . Vole-au-vent are round pastry and so it plays on the imagery shape as well as the freedom to wind fly and literally dissolve.

Ah, so that's it.

If this poem is life to you, it is meaningless. It needs a meaningful death.

Not sure as yet. Just thinking about it. There are many ways of time travel described in literature (I like them all). I am still trying to get in touch with my own way. I don't want to copy other writers'.

I think it's a matter of whether you want to use magic or try to use science. It is also a matter of whether the travel is important or just a way to get to where you want to be. I think that the best time travel uses time travel as a plot device, rahter than dwelling on it.

Jolly bad, n'est-ce pas?

I have managed some fairly lengthy online chats with native French speakers, and they claimed that it was better than trying to write in English.

do you have a favourite time travel?

As I wrote before, I like all the ways of time travel found in literature. Which one of them is the most possible, that is another question.

what do you think of Entropy?

I am not quite sure that I understand it properly. Simply explained, it is a kind of disorder necessary for a closed system in order to function, to operate, not to come into a state of stillness where there is no moving. Have I understood it properly?

I am writing a love story. The main female character is rather lonely in the present time because all the kinghts belong to the past.

So, which way of time travel do you think would be the best?

The method that actually works. But what your main character should do is realize that there are even better knights now than lived in the Middle Ages, or is that what she will learn during her trip into the past?

The way that actually works is sliding between paraallel worlds and doing the time travel in between, but I thinnk that should only be mentioned as little as possible. Stay with the story itself.
