These skis, these boots
Suck my feet down
Toward tipp-exed slopes

We cuddle together
While ice winds blow
Oblivion onto our skin

Our ski suits chafe,
Peaks sparkle ahead
Like disco queens

Our nostrils are jammed
By goggles and frosted breath
And endless chances

This evening, Kirsten, maybe
I’ll try and stick my tongue
Into your mouth

And somewhere, a-ha
Keep pretending the sun
Always shines on TV

A bit cold a poem, Dieter! It looks as if winter does its best to 'tipp-ex slopes' and freeze your tongue!:smile5: well written. Thank you!

(ah,and your subtle irony re the shining sun (on TV)! ;)

Thanks a lot, Bar22do; in fact it's a nostalgic teenage memory of the 80s (when I still tried to convince myself that to French-kiss Kirstens and other Julies and Sabines was the thing for me) ;) Haven't been skiing ever since, I'm afraid, and loads of ski-fans have sighed with relief, too.
